“Her voice is flawless, graceful, light as a feather. She shapes her lines with a subtle finesse that sounds as natural as the wind.“ (The Guardian about Núria Rial)
The Catalan soprano Núria Rial is not only a shining light of the Renaissance and Baroque music world, but also moves with dreamlike confidence in Mozart roles and in Spanish, French and German songs. Her many international awards were joined in 2020 by the Opus Klassik for her album “Muera Cupido“. For this SKO concert evening, Núria Rial has one of the leading virtuosos of the current Baroque scene at her side, Chouchane Sironassian, whose most recent solo recording of Tartini concertos won the 2020 German Record Critics' Award. The French-Armenian violinist also works with many contemporary composers and leads the Liechtenstein-based Ensemble Esperanza, among others. Together with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the two lively artists let the baroque diversity of Vivaldi, Handel and Bach shine brightly and end with a superlative, namely the aria for soprano and solo violin “Laudamus te“ from the Mass in B minor; for Bach publisher Nägeli, this mass was nothing less than the “greatest musical work of art of all times and peoples“.
